Replacement vehicles
Back on the road while yours is off it.
Losing access to your vehicle is often the most disruptive part of an accident. Work, school runs and everything else carry on regardless. We aim to arrange a suitable replacement as quickly as we can.
How we approach it
Matched to what you actually need
A like-for-like replacement where that is appropriate — including larger vehicles, automatics and motorcycles — rather than whatever is left on the lot.
Arranged alongside everything else
The replacement is organised as part of the same process as your recovery, storage and repair, so nothing has to be chased separately.
We confirm eligibility first
We tell you what is available in your circumstances before anything is booked, so there are no assumptions about who is paying for what.
For as long as it is appropriate
The replacement is intended to cover the period your vehicle is genuinely off the road, in line with the circumstances of your claim.
What determines whether a replacement is available.
Three things: the circumstances of the accident, your eligibility under the relevant claim, and what is actually available at the time. Non-fault accidents are the most straightforward, but they are not the only situation in which a replacement can be arranged.
We would rather tell you plainly what is and is not possible than leave you assuming a vehicle is coming. When you contact us we will establish the position and confirm it with you.
We aim to have a suitable replacement with you within 24 hours of initial contact where circumstances, availability and eligibility allow. That is a target we work to — not a promise we can make in every case.
